Sir Duncan and Lady Wilson

Sir (Archibald) Duncan was born at Winchester College (son of a schoolmaster).  Joined the Foreign Office during WW2.  Specialising in Communist affairs he was posted to China, Yugoslavia and Russia.  Ambassador to Moscow, 1968-71.  Master of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, 1971-80.

His wife, Lady Wilson, was born as Elizabeth Anne Martin (Betty) Fleming.  Married
Sir Duncan in 1937.  Died Fife 1 January, 2004.

From his first visit to London in 1922 until 1937 Bartok always stayed with the Wilsons at 7 Sydney Place.
