Glenda Jackson

Person  Female  Born 9/5/1936 

Politician and actor. Born Glenda May Jackson in Birkenhead. She made her stage debut in 1957 and went on to a highly successful career in films, winning two best actress Oscars for 'Women in Love' and 'A Touch of Class'. In 1992 she retired from acting to pursue another career in politics. Elected as Member of Parliament for Hampstead and Highgate in1992, she was appointed junior Minister for Transport in 1997.
