Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee - weather vane

Erection date: 4/6/2012

Inscription

{Incised into the vane, with a crown symbol:}
ERII  2012

{On the plaque, below the coats of arms of The City of London and the Borough of Barnet:}
To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II this weather vane was unveiled on 4th June 2012 by the Worshipful the Mayor of the London Borough of Barnet Councillor Brian Schama, the Representative Deputy Lieutenant for the London Borough of Barnet MHC Russell, Esq. DL FCT, and the Chairman of the Hampstead Heath Management Committee Jeremy Simons, MSc.
Funded by National Grid

Golders Hill Park is managed by the City of London as part of Hampstead Heath.

Perhaps, with the wind now generating much of our electrical power, a weather vane is an appropriate item for the National Grid to fund.
