This is the site of the north east corner of “C” block, Camp Griffiss. C Block was the Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Expeditionary Force.

There are/were 16 of these ground plaques - see Camp Griffiss, Block A, NW corner, for more information. This is one of the ones we've not found but Wikipedia have a photo so we've used that, and from the plaque text and the plan of the camp we're confident the pin is in about the right place.
