Ted Christmas

Categories: Property

Builder. Born Edward Charles Christmas in Lewisham. He set up his business around 1890, initially building large detached houses, and then less expensive ones in the Perry Vale area, where his style is still pervasive. He made a curious bid for immortality by giving his houses names, the first letters of which spelt out 'Ted Christmas' and 'Laura'  after his wife.
