Sculptor and painter, renowned for producing controversial works of art that challenged the taboos of his time. Born New York City and arrived in London, via Paris, in 1905. 1909 - 1914 had a studio at Roper's Gardens. Died at home at Hyde Park Gate.

Other works in London include two sculptures on the (Charles Holden designed) London Underground building at 55 Broadway: Night and Day, on the north and south respectively.
