Nicknamed 'fox' because of his ginger hair. He was aged 19. The Islington Gazette reported "... McCarthy was attacked in revenge for abducting and torturing {a drug dealer}...". 6 weeks after that event two of the drug dealer's associates murdered McCarthy. The murderers were both given life sentences.

Aged 36, was shot dead after entering the house in Cutler Street where robbers were trying to break into the jewellers behind.
Drowned in the 1898 HMS Albion disaster, aged 23. Buried in grave 2 at the memorial in East London Cemetery.
