Lieut-Commander J. Dawbarn Young, R.N.V.R.

Countries: Belgium

War dead, WW1 i

Commemorated on a memorial as having died in WW1.

Qualified as surveyor and then as lawyer. Public spirited and worked with the Claremont Central Mission (we think this was a nationwide religious charitable organisation working with young people). Yachting was his hobby so on the outbreak of WW1 he joined the navy. Fell at Zeebrugge on St. George's Day. More information at the picture source website.
