Godwin O. Forde was born on 30 September 1962 in Paddington. Along with his twin, Doran L. Forde, they were the eldest of the six children of Godwin Othillor Forde (1922-1975) and Dorepha E. Forde née Thomas.

He was an electrician, who fathered a daughter and three sons, but who in 1991 left his family in London to visit his sister in Brooklyn, New York, USA, and never returned.

He found work as a private security guard, working for Merrill Lynch, the FX Network and on the Late Show with David Letterman.

Living in Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York, his final employer was Morgan Stanley and it was with them that he died, aged 38 years, on 11 September 2001, on the 42nd Floor, South Tower, 2 World Trade Centre, Manhattan, New York, USA.
