This plaque commemorates the inauguration of the final section of the Silver Jubilee Walkway around central London from the Tower of London to Leicester Square by HRH the Duke of Gloucester, patron of the Trust, on Friday 14th July 1978.

After the Golden Jubilee the Silver Jubilee Walkway got renamed "Jubilee Walkway".

When this plaque was unveiled the wall was part of the Public Record Office. It is now King's College Library.
