This stone was laid by Miss Gracie Fields on the 17th day of June 1937.

True to form Gracie sang to the workman as part of the job. Photos at The Official Gracie Fields.

In our photo the Delfont plaque is just to the left of the white van, though when we photographed it it was high up on the building. Gracie's foundation stone is a little further to the left, close to the pavement.
