On our 2014 visit the Early was peering over hoardings. In 2017 we had a few minutes to spare so stopped by expecting just to take 2 photos of the hoarding-free statue and be off. But the hoardings had also been hiding a new memorial garden. So we still need to go back and read the text around the raised lawn and understand the commemoration. But we did get 2 good photos of the Earl.
